Santiago Rivera Opening New Coworking Space In Puerto Rico



Santiago Rivera is the owner of a Co-Working space in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is also a Real Estate Expert and a Business leader. We had the chance to interview Santiago Rivera on his journey as an entrepreneur.

How did you start your creative journey?
For me, my creative journey began the first time I became conscious of my ability to learn something new. I would experiment with everything around me, learn about it, try to master it then move on to something new while trying to keep conscious everything I already learned. I now realize its that inquisitiveness that makes for an interesting life journey.

When did you decide to take it to the next level?
If we are talking about money, then I would say as I approached high school graduation time. I picked up the Federal Employment Occupational Handbook. The year was 1978, I was eighteen and I looked up a computer job. All indications were that there would be plenty of jobs in this field for the next 20 years and incomes would be rising. Little did I realize how much money someone could earn.

What is your cause?
At SoBeCoWorks, our co-working office here in the Lehigh Valley, our Core Values include collaboration, openness, community, education, sustainability, innovation, and spontaneity. Utilizing my company’s Core Values as guiding principles the vision of SoBeCoWorks is to bring open-minded coworking communities to the broader Lehigh Valley, PA, and Patillas, Puerto Rico that gives ​people a supportive environment ​where they can begin to build or grow their entrepreneurial endeavors.

What is your mission?
My company, SoBeCoWorks, reimagines the way that coworking can exist by placing a clear emphasis on the role that the larger community can play relative to the success of the individual by creating collaborative workspaces where entrepreneurs and small businesses owners can build both their companies and connections via membership, meetups, and mastermind groups, while also providing space to individuals who are seeking to host educational workshops, classes or events. A blue ocean raises all ships and our community members encourage a group of each other through educations and collaboration thereby furthering our own communities’ development opportunities.

Have you accomplished any goals?
I’ve accomplished a boatload of goals. Now I want to take what I know, my well-seasoned attitude, and help you accomplish yours. I am going in a new direction with my coworking space and adding business coaching and consultation to all and doing it in both English and Spanish. Our coworking spaces are encouraged to be bilingual at a minimum and we welcome all languages, ideas, and methods of innovation.

What does the future hold for you?
Well, I am what I do so I foresee adding more coworking locations in the Lehigh Valley and I am in discussions now with potential business partners and investors to bring my beautiful cause to Puerto Rico home of my parents and grandparents and create an entrepreneurial bridge between Bethlehem, PA, and Patillas, Puerto Rico.
