Working as an A&R in artist development and management, Bigg Jigg helps developing talent get real radio spins and air play, online and over the wire.

We had the chance to sit down with Bigg Jigg and ask him about his top 3 tips for up and coming artists.

Tip #1) Set Aside A Marketing Budget

A lot of artists will spend their money on studio time and production costs but dry up when it comes to their marketing budget. It doesn’t make sense. You need to have a budget and a game plan for every step you take in this industry or it will come back to bite you in the ass.

Tip #2) Reach Out

You never know who you can get in touch with unless you reach out to them. Through Email, twitter, or DM, it doesn’t matter… reach out and reach up! Don’t you think its a good idea to ask somebody for a feature that’s hot in another city? Thats how the game works. Don’t be shy, the greatest artists are champions of the networking game.

Tip #3) Be A Leader

You need to have leadership qualities in this music industry to show the world what you’re truly capable of. Some of the greatest artists became great because they paved a path to a new way of creatively expressing themselves and their new ideas.

We would like to thank Bigg Jigg for coming on and sharing his knowledge. You can learn more about Bigg Jigg at his instagram here.
