When did you realize you wanted to become a model?
Since I can remember, I have always liked the camera, the art, the stage. If I’m honest, I didn’t see myself being a model. I was more of a dancer. When I went to my first modeling casting, Agent Yadira Diaz was delighted with me and told me to give it a try. I had the wrong idea about modeling, due to different stereotypes that society has, and As I was taking the classes I realized, that I wanted to become a model. Although it is a competitive environment, you will find acceptance and diversity. It feels good to be in an environment where you can be you, and there’s no judgement.
What is your fashion style and type of clothing?
I love how you can express your emotions, culture, beliefs through clothing. Living on an island, I always like to have that tropical touch in my closet but classifying my fashion style, I like the combination of Whimsical and Classic. When it comes to playing with colors, combining them in clothes is what I do.
Who are some of your inspirations?
My motto has always been: “Too glam to give a damn” and some of my inspirations in the fashion industry are Naomi Campbell, Beyoncé and Bonnie Humphreys. Women that are Empowered, wild and self-confident are the ones that motivateme the most. Because if they could achieve their goals in the Fashion Industry being leaders and helping others, I can too.
What are your favorite fashion brands?
Give Me Colors! Some recognized brands such as Gucci, Prada, Tommy Hilfiger fulfilled all my creativity expectations of art. When we talk about Fashion in Puerto Rico, some of the styles I like is that tropical vibe: Gustavo Arango, Margarita Alverez, Stella Nolasco and Eddie Guerrero have in their brands.
Do you have any special events coming up?
I have a Fashion Show event coming up called: Moda Extrema 3 season by Yadira Diaz. It will take place in the Embassy Suite of Dorado. The purpose of the event is to give opportunities to different designers and show new collections.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I see myself in the future working as a full-time model, alongside great designers in Puerto Rico and other countries. But for me, it’s not about being the best icon, it’s more of creating emotions in others through the art of Fashion.
